Here’s My Story

Lars Harrington

My name is Lars Harrington, and I’ve been golfing for thirty-five years and counting.

I was nineteen when I got a summer job as a caddy. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the game.

I was carrying clubs for a local Virginia state official about three months in, and I made a suggestion.

I saw how the man had been playing all afternoon, and when it came down to a hundred feet between him and a par game on the ninth, I recommended he use his 6 iron instead of his putter.

He called me mad. Then he did it. Then, I helped him hit his game.

I’ve been playing ever since that day. And now, I want to teach you, just as I’ve taught my six children, how to play golf.

I have a passion for angling on a fairway vs a putter, talking about the differences in steel and graphite club shafts, the appropriate material blend for golfing clothes—all of the above.

Now it’s time for me to teach you. From golf bags to teeing off, to the differences between wedges and drivers—anything you need to learn, at any golfing skill level—it’s going to be right here on the Cherrywood Golf Club.

I’ve spent so much time on the course and so much time helping to teach my children the importance of proper golf form and the differences between amateur and professional-level moves.

It’s time to step up your game. Consider me, Lars Harrington, your personal virtual golf coach.
